Tri-State Boating Safety Fair May 3 At Lake Havasu State Park

A consortium of state, local and Federal boating agencies are hosting the fourth annual Tri-State Boating Safety Fair to educate boaters about boating safety, especially the importance of life jackets and the newest danger of Quagga mussels. More...http://azbw.com/past_issues/may08/tri-state.php

Following are the details:

  • Date: Saturday, May 3, 2008  
     
  • Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  
     
  • Place: Windsor State Beach, Area 2, located at 699 London Bridge Road, off Hwy. 95 and Industrial Blvd.  
Activities:
  • Life Jacket Trade-in. Bring in your outgrown or unserviceable life jackets to be traded in for a new one. Staff will be on hand to verify that life jackets are indeed unsafe. One per family, while supplies last.
     
  • Houseboating trip weekend getaway — register to win by taking the Tri-State Safety Quiz at the event. Top of the line houseboat that seats 12 will be offered. Check it out: www.foreverhouseboats.com.
     
  • Free vessel safety checks
     
  • Every visitor to the park will be receiving a boating-safety bag. 
     
  • Search and rescue demonstrations
     
  • Giveaways and much more!

Visitors are invited to stop by, bring their boats, take part in boating-safety activities, and learn the rules that govern the river in all three states.
