Surf & Turf Radio’s African Photo/Fishing Safari
If your idea of a great vacation is 15 days at the Waldorf
Astoria, high-morning teas, and a night at the opera, then this trip
is not for you. On the other hand, if you have ever dreamed of
spending a night in the African bush as leopards, lions, and hyenas
roamed the countryside around you — if you have ever wanted to spend
a night in a Maasai village or range the wide African plains in
search of giraffes and elephants — if you have ever wanted a truly
unique fishing experience, then this is the perfect trip and one of
a lifetime.
The Surf & Turf Radio African Photo Safari takes you on a 15-day
adventure to East Africa. Your host on the trip will be Bill Boyce,
internationally recognized photographer and host of the TV program
World Class Sport Fishing seen on the Outdoor Channel. Boyce
will be with you each day to provide expert advice on nature
photography as well as valuable insights into the ecology of the
area and the wildlife. This trip is packed with so many extras it’s
hard to count them all.
Departing March 24, 2007, you will leave for an overnight flight
to Nairobi, Kenya. There you will be met and escorted to your hotel
for an overnight stay before leaving for Amboseli National Park,
known as the land of the giants, home to large numbers of elephants
and fantastic views of Mt. Kilamanjaro, where the real adventure
begins.
In addition to a two-night stay at Amboseli, you will be treated
to stays in a mountain tree lodge on the slopes of Mt. Kenya, tours
of Lake Nakuru, and stay at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge for photo ops
of flamingos and other exotic bird life and a tour of the Rift
Valley. You’ll visit Maasai Villages for a taste of the Maasai way
of life and stay at the Mara Sarova Camp, Bush/Game Lodge, where if
you want, you can experience a true African-style tent camp in the
Maasai Mara Reserve.
As if all of this isn’t enough to convince you that this truly is
a trip of a lifetime for any that have dreamed of an African Safari,
the coupe de gras of this trip is that after touring the
bush, experiencing game drives and Maasai Villages, you will wind up
the trip with two days of fishing at Hemingway’s Resort, at Watamu
in Kenya, one of East Africa's finest Big Game Fishing destinations.
Expect four different varieties of billfish, yellowfin tuna,
giant trevally, and wahoo, just to name a few. There is even an
optional side trip to Lake Victoria for a chance to catch giant Nile
Perch.
